Belt Tension Tester

Belt tension is the setting that quietly decides how long everything else on the drive lasts. Run it loose and the belt slips, glazes and cooks itself. Run it tight and you load the crank and driveshaft bearings every hour the motor is running.

Thumb feel gets you close. It does not get you repeatable. This gauge gives you an actual reading, so the belt you set in the driveway this spring is tensioned the same as the one you set last season, and the same as the one the shop set before that.
